New year, new game.
If we want to live with full power, we have to get our mind working for us, not against us.
Most of the time, we live from our conscious minds.
But the subconscious and unconscious mind (we'll just say subconscious for the purpose of this blog) represents an infinitely large reservoir of every single thought, feeling, memory and experience we've had, our entire lives.
It's hyper-intelligent beyond our conscious mind, and is responsible for creating and defining who we are today, and will be going forward.
The problem is, most of us don't access it, optimally.
So what the heck can we do?
Here are 3 tips to get your head right for 2020:
1. MAKE ALPHA STATE YOUR FRIEND --
Scientists in the 1930's and 40's discovered the different types of brain waves. Traditionally, these fall into 4 categories:
Beta (when consciously thinking or working on something)
Alpha (when we are relaxed and calm)
Theta (associated with sleep or deep relaxation)
Delta (REM or deep sleep)
Familiarizing ourselves with how to get into Alpha wave state, and going here quickly, is one of the easiest ways to access the subconscious mind. Here, we can reprogram disempowering habits, rewrite unhealthy stories, and visualize the life of our dreams to make manifest.
Do this work in the semi-lucid state right before, or after you wake up. Alternatively, take 5 deep breaths and close your eyes to get to Alpha state. Follow the steps below to do the work.
2. VISUALIZE WITH EMOTION --
The subconscious mind speaks not in verbal language, but in IMAGE and EMOTION. This is why so many of our written and verbal goals fail.
Get yourself in an Alpha state, and then visualize yourself at some future point living out your desire. Attach emotion to the outcome you're after (how it will FEEL), and you're even more unstoppable.
Now, you're speaking the language of the subconscious mind, which drives all your behaviors.
Visualize, imagine and embody what it would FEEL like to be a billionaire, to be on that stage, to be sharing your wisdom, to be that healthy, or winning that award, etc.
3. NAME YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS --
We all have internal ways of speaking to ourselves. Some are empowering, some are less so. Occasionally, we find ourselves in a pattern of disempowering self-speak. It can be difficult to recognize.
But a depressing thought is not reality. It's merely an unhealthy habit, parading as truth, that needs to be rewired.
If this happens, we need to regain control of our subconscious mind, who's temporarily gone on the fritz.
Tonight, before you go to bed, when in an Alpha state, ask your mind to give you a name for your subconscious by dinner the following night.
Then, be open to signs. Don't think about it, just receive. It will come.
Once you have a name for your subconscious, next time you catch yourself mentally spinning out, picture your subconscious and speak to her/him/it, directly.
"We're in this together. Work with me here. Time to get back on track."
