2021 Reflections

Dear friend,

Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Wow. What a year.

As I reflect on the past year, I remember this season, 5 years ago, when I began She Glows Retreats.

I had no business experience.

My kids were tiny, and at home with me full-time.

I had no mailing list, and had never built a website.

But I had an idea, and a belief in what was possible.

I imagined bringing women together in wellness with yoga, and resting, and lots of great physical practices because it was what I so desperately needed then (and still need now).

But more than that, I wanted to create a safe space for women to examine their inner lives. On the inside, I believed, was where true transformation occurred. I've always believed that this was how we change the world -- by tending to ourselves, first.

This year presented many hurdles as a business owner, and as a human in the world. There have been days when I've wanted to leave She Glows behind, cocoon myself into quieter work, and slowly pull back from the fray of sharing my work and vulnerabilities with the outside world so openly.

But as I reflect on these 5 years, I've witnessed some of the most profound awakenings of my life. These transformations have changed me, too. I've literally seen people come alive in these sacred containers of retreat.

I no longer just believe retreating brings us back to ourselves as a theory. I know it does.

Your continued presence and engagement inspires me, deeply. Even in my questioning and darkest days, your commitment to this inner work, and to your own evolution is what keeps the fire burning for me. Thank you.

In one month, many of us are headed to Costa Rica for my annual AWAKEN Retreat. The last time I hosted this retreat was 2 weeks before countries shut borders due to the pandemic, 2 years ago.

It feels like a homecoming. Never have I felt more convicted in the power of women gathering with higher spiritual intent as the alchemy we need to heal our hurting world.

So, I want to thank you. Thank you for continuing to retreat with me, for sharing in Soul Sessions with me, for reading and sharing my book with women who need permission to leave, for reading and sharing my blogs, and for using the Self Retreat Kit to serve you.

But mostly, thank you for your commitment to yourself. It has not been an easy few years for any of us. But as always, the way back is by giving time, space, and love to yourself.

Wherever you are in the world, may 2022 start with a little bit of self-love. You certainly deserve it.

In deep reverence and gratitude,
