Self-care through the Holidays

The holidays can be full of joy. But for many of us, they bring about feelings of stress, anxiety and even sadness. How can we take better care of ourselves and our families during this time of heightened excitement?

Ekhart Tolle talks about what he calls the "pain body." His concept is that we have a residue of emotional pain that is stored in the cells of our bodies from past hurt. The holidays can really trigger our pain bodies, says Tolle.

On retreat, we learn different ways to uncover and address some of the habit patterns we've been storing for years. Only once we become aware of them can we create new, more supportive ways of being.

Furthermore, managing internal and external expectations will help us not only in holiday season, but in all daily interactions.
